Not owning a car is a great way to stay fit, save money, and avoid loads of hassle. This is a blog with thoughts, photos, ideas and links about carfree life: walking, active travel, public transport, places and spaces - things that matter to everyone, but even more when you don’t own a car. Photos are by me unless credited. Forthcoming: book on carfree life. Meantime, get in touch via email at carfreelifeoutsidethebox@gmail.com or Twitter @carfreebrighton

Stay On The Bus
Here’s some brilliant life advice from a Finnish photographer, masquerading as public transport guidance. It was in last weekend’s Guardian. And here’s a link to the photographer who came up with the notion. Interesting idea, interesting photos. Staying on the bus doesn’t always work out – sometimes the bus breaks down. Or it gets turned round before the end due to heavy traffic. Or perhaps you got on the wrong bus to start with.
Since I don’t have any photos of Helsinki Bus Station, here are a couple of the railway station, which is next door.
