Hove hit the headlines in a shocking way at the weekend – the site of an on-street shooting which ended up with one dead and two injured. Hove is normally more sedate, but it is part of the Brighton Festival. As was A High Street Odyssey by Inspector Sands in Hove’s George Street, a promenade performance with history, observation, drama, fantasy and music. Participants are unlikely to look at George Street in the same way in future. Fortunately, there were no bullets.
