Not owning a car is a great way to stay fit, save money, and avoid loads of hassle. This is a blog with thoughts, photos, ideas and links about carfree life: walking, active travel, public transport, places and spaces - things that matter to everyone, but even more when you don’t own a car. Photos are by me unless credited. Forthcoming: book on carfree life. Meantime, get in touch via email at carfreelifeoutsidethebox@gmail.com or Twitter @carfreebrighton

Quirks & Idiosyncrasies of Public Transport
It doesn’t get much quirkier than this: if you want to cross the Rio Nervion to the north of Bilbao, you can take a ride on the Vizcaya Bridge, from Portugalete to Getxo. It’s a transporter bridge, which conveys vehicles and pedestrians in (on?) a ferry suspended by wires, which hang from wheels on a high level gantry. The bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If vertigo isn’t a problem, you can pay a bit more and walk across the top level.

I feel everyone should use a public transportation system because it helps us to bring a better quality of life. Public transportation also provides some personal mobility and freedom for people from every walk of life.

According to me, a situation of a public transportation system is same at every where. There is everyone like to use public transportation than their private transportation ways. I feel, public transportation gives the best people transportation options to get to work, go to school, visit friends, or go to a doctor’s office.
