On The Rails

Here’s some good news if you’re trying to plan rail trips around Europe - which can be a bit of a challenge. The folks at Loco2 (train locomotive/low CO2, geddit?), some of whom I know, have done a partnership deal with Mark Smith, who runs the encyclopaedic Seat 61 rail travel website. (Mark Smith is The Man in Seat 61, not to be confused with Mark E Smith from The Fall). Declaration: I don’t have a financial interest in Loco2, although I did use them to book a European train ticket (Split to Ljubljana via Zagreb) which worked out fine. You can read more about the deal here, which includes a great comment from Mark Smith, “flying on a budget airline is a nightmare, but easy to book, while travelling by train is wonderful but difficult to book.” You said it, Mark.

  1. Thanks for the kind post Stephen. We're really excited about working with Mark Smith in the Loco2 Engine Room to solve some of the all-too common rail booking nightmares. Together we're stronger and all that :-)
