Not owning a car is a great way to stay fit, save money, and avoid loads of hassle. This is a blog with thoughts, photos, ideas and links about carfree life: walking, active travel, public transport, places and spaces - things that matter to everyone, but even more when you don’t own a car. Photos are by me unless credited. Forthcoming: book on carfree life. Meantime, get in touch via email at carfreelifeoutsidethebox@gmail.com or Twitter @carfreebrighton

Stopping Rail Ticket Rip-Offs: Tom Wrigglesworth and Lena’s Law
An email arrived today from Tom Wrigglesworth, thanking me (and many others!) for signing his 'Lena's Law' petition. This is aimed at giving passengers access to fair train fares, stopping them being ripped off for ticketing confusion. It follows an incident that Tom W was involved in on a Virgin train. He intends to deliver the petition very soon, and, wants to give it one last push before doing so. Hence, the request to forward the petition details on to friends and family. The petition is now linked to Tom’s website, and can also be found here. Please sign it.
