20 Is Still Plenty In Brighton and Hove
Brighton's Argus newspaper recently carried a letter lambasting 20mph zones, based on some pretty shaky evidence. Here's a link to a couple of letters putting the case for 20mph default speed limits, one from Chris Murgatroyd, one from me wearing my Living Streets hat.

I'm in favour of the proposed speed limit, however my van struggles to do 20mph in 4th gear. The proposed limits will mean that I'll have to use 3rd gear, as "top gear", which will significantly increase pollution and my costs. I suspect a lot of other vehicles are also geared similarly by auto manufacturers that design for this country.
